Anna University

Stevens Institute of Technology and Anna University, Chennai, India have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that outlines areas for future collaboration between the two institutions. The goals of the cooperative agreement are to provide opportunities for global experience for faculty and students and to facilitate the advancement of knowledge through joint research.

Among other things, the MOU calls for:

An exchange of faculty to promote innovative new educational programs and to engage in jointly sponsored research
Student exchange programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Jointly organized short-term continuing education programs on topics of mutual interest
Jointly organized workshops and conferences.

Anna University was established on 4th September 1978 as a unitary type of University. Since December 2001, it has become a large, highly renowned affiliated University, having brought into its fold about 225 Self-financing Engineering Colleges, six Government Colleges and three Government-aided Engineering colleges located in various parts of TamilNadu State . It offers higher education in Engineering, Technology and allied Sciences relevant to the current and projected needs of the society. Besides promoting research and disseminating knowledge gained there from, it fosters cooperation between the academic and industrial communities.
