In just 21 months, you can earn a Master of Technology Management degree from Stevens Institute of Technology while continuing to work full time. Students intending to get their MBA in Technology Management degree take an additional five courses after completing EMTM which will take another 12 months (3 semesters) to complete.
The EMTM program starts in the Fall (September) and ends 21 months later at the conclusion of the Spring semester (end of May). There is typically a one or two-week break between semesters and a month break in August. Students continuing in the EMBA extension program may start in any semester following completetion of their EMTM courses.
Program Orientation
Students in the Weekday and Saturday programs will have the opportunity to connect with classmates, meet with the faculty and prepare for the EMTM learning experience in a one-day orientation session held on the Stevens campus on the Friday preceding the start of the Fall classes.
Program Options
Weekday Option: Class is held at the Parsippany Hilton Hotel in Parsippany, NJ. The hotel is conveniently located near the intersection of I-287 and Route 10. Students normally take two courses per semester one afternoon/evening per week. Class meets from 3:30 PM to 9:15 PM, with dinner provided. In the final semester, the capstone course requires several consecutive weekend (Friday evening/Saturday) sessions on the Stevens campus.
Saturday Option: Students attend class every other Saturday on the Stevens campus (Babbio Center for Technology Management). Class meets from 8:15 AM to 5.15 PM, with lunch provided. Students take two courses per semester.
Hybrid Option: NEW! This is a new program that we are introducing in Fall 2008 to complement the on-campus, instructor led program. The program extends EMTM to the on-line world, combining on-line course delivery with a limited number of on-campus residencies. The program runs in parallel with the face-to-face options. The program begins with a week-long residency on the Stevens campus, then continues with on-line classes for the next 21 months. Students spend short bridge weekend residencies on campus at the end of each semester.
Half-Time Option: While students will gain maximum advantage from the program by taking the two-courses per semester in lock-step sequence, we do realize that work, time, and fiscal constraints may necessitate a lessened work load. Students who elect the half-time option take one course per semester, The option applies to both the the Weekday and Saturday programs. While this option does offer flexibility, students should be aware that it does double the time required to complete the degree.
