What distinguishes the Howe School's MBA-TM and MS/MBA-TM from other MBA Programs?
The unique curriculum designed for these degrees emphasizes business, technology and people skills - a rare combination that our industry contacts tell us is sorely needed to lead their organizations. Our unique pedagogical approach emphasizes small class sizes (usually less than 30 students), teamwork, student presentations, and close interaction with our concerned faculty who are all experts in their respective fields. The MBA-TM (or MS/MBA-TM) adds general business knowledge to the technology management skills offered in our Master' of Science programs.

Our MBA-TM degree requires students to take 20 courses (3 credits each) for a total of 60 credits.
The dual MS/MBA-TM degree requires students to take 24 courses (3 credits each) for a total of 72 credits - if you choose this option you will receive both an M.S. and an MBA-TM degree. (Curriculum)

Why should I be interested in the dual MS/MBA-TM degree?
The MS/MBA-TM allows you to broaden your education even more than the MBA. The 4 additional courses required beyond the MBA provide opportunity for more in-depth study of a particular topic, or inclusion of an additional concentration. In addition, you receive two degrees, which can enhance your resume. The M.S. degree reflects depth, which is complemented by the breadth of the MBA degree. (Dual MS/MBA-TM)

What are the program requirements for current Howe School M.S. students?
Current MS students can apply at any time for admission to the MBA-TM or MS/MBA-TM programs. The MBA-TM degree requires a total of 20 courses (60 credits). All courses taken in your M.S. program count towards the MBA-TM degree. On graduation students will only receive the MBA-TM degree. Students who wish to graduate with both an M.S. and MBA-TM degree need to take a total of 24 courses (72 credits). Please consult the guidelines regarding conversion to the MBA program and construction of your study plan.

If I already have an M.S. degree, and complete the requirements for the MBA-TM, what will my transcript show?

My M.S. program does not include many of the core courses in the MBA-TM program. Does this mean that I might have to take more than the additional 8 courses to complete the MBA-TM?
No. Your advisor will help you develop a program of study that will satisfy the requirements for the MBA-TM without taking more than 8 additional courses.

Can I keep the advisor to whom I was assigned for the M.S. program?
While specific advisors have been assigned to each major, you may, if you so choose, keep your current advisor who will be happy to continue working with you throughout your MBA-TM program.

If I enter the MS/MBA-TM program, I will delay receiving my MS (and MBA-TM) degree until I have completed all 24 courses. If I later decide not to complete the MS/MBA-TM, can I still receive my M.S. (or MBA-TM) degree?
Certainly - as long as you have completed 12 courses and satisfied all other requirements for the MS degree. Likewise, if you originally applied for the MS/MBA-TM degree and later decide to leave the program after completing fewer than 24 courses, you may receive the MBA-TM degree provided you have completed 20 courses and satisfied all other requirements.

Are on-line courses available in the MBA-TM or MS/MBA-TM programs?
We recommend students take the MBA program in a traditional classroom environment, but we recognize that this format is not always suitable, especially for students living beyond a reasonable commuting distance. Most of the core courses are available on-line, but not all majors are on line. You should consult the WebCampus catalog for on-line course availability.
