Knowledge Management/Data Mining

Coordinator: Joseph Morabito

IT and business executives have identified the ability to leverage data as one of their primary concerns. Organizations are finding it more

difficult to rely on a localized "killer app" or an enterprise system or competitive advantage. Today, as firms use comparable technologies
and offer similar products and services, the remaining sources of differentiation are process excellence and the ability to effectively
leverage data. An analytical competency is the ability to collect, analyze, and effectively act on data. Organizations have amassed huge
stores of data: competing on analytics means deploying proven mathematical and modeling techniques on an organization-wide basis.
An analytical competency requires a close partnership between IT and the business community. The Stevens Knowledge Management/Data Mining Program provides the expertise needed to compete on analytics.
