Introduction

This web page is intended for prospective students interested in earning either a Masters of Science in Information Systems degree or one of Stevens graduate certificates.  This page contains information referring to both of these  programs.  If you missed the Stevens Institute information session or webinar or just want more information about the programs, this page will help.

The Howe School of Technology Management offers a grouping of graduate IS programs that are either 4 or 5 courses in length - a graduate certificate -  or 12 courses - a full Master’s of Science degree.

Program Tracks/Graduate Certificates

Stevens offers 23 Program Tracks/Graduate Certificates with one one of these focuses: management, services, industry or technology. The list is shown on the right.

Master’s of Science in Information Systems

The MSIS program at Stevens is a unique, 12-course sequence of courses that balances the requisite management and technical expertise necessary for today’s dynamic business and technical environment. Increasingly, organizations need IS professionals who possess business and management capabilities alongside their specialist IT knowledge. For IT professionals, the focus is on helping employees with strong technical expertise to be in a position to work more effectively and efficiently with their business partners - managers who can sit across the table from business managers from an entirely different function of the business and “speak their language.”. For business people seeking to enhance their awareness of how to better leverage Information Technology in their firms, our MSIS degree helps them also gain relevant technical knowledge for them to be more effective managers, including managers accountable for IT resources.

Students enrolled in the MSIS program select one of the 23 program tracks as part of their overall MSIS education.
