EMT 755 Process Management & Six-Sigma Quality

Overview
Operations excellence is a key competitive advantage for global companies. Eliminating waste, removing defects from development and delivery services, and improving processes are the underlying elements of success. This course provides students with the skills and tools for management and improvement of business processes to improve productivity, increase customer satisfaction and sustain competitive advantage. We start with a discussion of underlying principles of Quality and Process Management, and application of these principles to entire business. This is followed with a working knowledge of process mapping, principles of process improvement and Six Sigma problem solving methodology-DMAIC. Students will learn the key tools and techniques for process management, statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma. Students individually and in teams apply the class learning to business problems in real corporate environment. Prerequisites: Business Experience.
