Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) Management for Healthcare Professionals

Stevens developed a graduate program to provide healthcare professionals a foundation in Information Management to strengthen knowledge about clinical, financial, and other administrative software applications.


Throughout the program, students will strengthen their knowledge and increase their personal skills to:

  • Influence others about IT policy decisions and eHealth trends
  • Improve healthcare services by leveraging proven products
  • Communicate workflow and technical support needs to others
  • Make sound business decisions about software investments
  • Avoid common pitfalls when implementing new systems

Healthcare Professional Courses Patient centered e-health Systems Clinical Systems in Healthcare Administrative Systems in Healthcare IT Management for the Healthcare Professional

 


For those healthcare professionals interested in taking their careers in a new direction, this first course will provide you with the foundation knowledge to continue your graduate education with more in-depth courses on Healthcare IT alongside IT professionals.


Students who complete all four 3-credit hour courses will earn a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare IT Management. All 4 HITM certificate courses are also a concentration-IT in Healthcare-in a Stevens Master's of Science in Information Systems degree (MSIS). With an additional 8 courses, students are awarded an MBA degree.


Students can enroll directly via Webcampus in MIS 689.

Online courses at Stevens are taught using the school's award-winning WebCampus environment. Students access materials, communicate with other students, submit assignments, post their own responses to discussion forums, and work with team members using a Web-based interface that requires only a Web browser and Internet access.
