Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) Management

Stevens has developed a unique Healthcare Information Technology Graduate Certificate  program for working IT professionals who are seeking the credentials to advance their IT careers in this fast-growing field. Through this program, which has been developed with a distinguished Advisory Board, IT professionals strengthen their knowledge and skills to deliver better IT products and services to meet the needs of MDs, nurses, administrators, and other healthcare decision-makers.

Throughout the program, students will strengthen their knowledge and increase their personal skills to:

  • Develop better IT products & services for the healthcare industry
  • Communicate the value of operational and clinical solutions to healthcare decision-makers
  • Anticipate and avoid common pitfalls when implementing new systems for hospitals and physician offices
  • Leverage new eHealth trends

Online sections are taught by the faculty experts with guest visits by experienced healthcare professionals and IT leaders.

The introductory course on the role of IT in the Healthcare Value Chain, from multiple stakeholder perspectives, prepares IT professionals to take in-depth courses alongside healthcare professionals on clinical systems, administrative systems, and patient-centered eHealth trends. Each course is given over a 12- or 13-week period, with assignments due on a weekly basis.
