About Distance Learning

What is WebCampus?

  • Online courses at Stevens are taught using the school’s award-winning WebCampus environment that requires only a Web browser and Internet access. WebCampus is a user-friendly, web-based interface that provides instructors and students a number of different learning tools to access materials, communicate with other students, submit assignments, post responses to discussion forums, and collaborate with team members and “virtual” guest experts.

Do I need to be online on certain days, at certain times?

  • Not usually: You access WebCampus to download materials and work on individual assignments at times convenient to you. However, written assignments and discussion forum postings typically have weekly due dates (e.g., every Saturday at midnight).
  • Several times a semester: Selected “guest experts” are invited to join the class for a synchronous “webinar” each semester. If you are not available for a specific webinar, you can view the archived webinar afterwards.

Why should I choose the HITM online program at Stevens?

  • The best distance education programs have proven track records, a robust web-based interface that is user-friendly, and consistently high student satisfaction scores. HITM at Stevens has all of these important attributes.
