Executive Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Home Box Office
Michael Gabriel is executive vice president, information technology and chief information officer for Home Box Office (HBO), responsible for overseeing the network’s systems development and information management, computer center, communications and office systems. Gabriel has held the position of chief information officer since June 1999. Before joining HBO, Gabriel was vice president and chief information officer for the National Basketball Association (NBA), responsible for supporting eight international and three domestic offices. From 1993 to 1997, Gabriel was vice president, information technology for EMI-Capitol Music Group, supporting twelve decentralized business units in the United States and Canada. Gabriel also worked for the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) as head of information technology for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He is a graduate of Pace University where he earned a BBA degree, cum laude, in MIS. He is a member of the Pace University Computer Science, Webster University School of Business & Technology Business, and Stevens Institute of Technology Advisory Boards.
