Education: After Stevens (Class of ’55), received the J.D. from the Law School of Columbia University, and the Ph.D. (government and economics) from
Harvard University.
Law Practice: Practiced law in NYC, while also legislative assistant to Councilman Edward I. Koch and Counsel to NJ Senate Majority Leader Mathew Feldman. Served also as Secretary to the American Bar Association’s Committee on Civil Rights.
Government Service: Special Assistant to NJ Governor Richard J. Hughes, followed by cabinet-rank appointment as Director of the N.J. Law Enforcement Planning Agency. Elected President of the American Society of Criminal Justice Planners ( the fifty state directors).
Private Sector: Aerospace Engineer at General Electric, Senior Analyst at NYC Office of RAND Corporation, Vice President of Decision Control, Inc.
University Positions: Special Assistant and Counsel to the President of the University of Iowa, followed by Chairman of that University’s Graduate Program in Urban Planning. Member of the Political Science, Public Policy, and Public Management (Wharton) faculties at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as Vice President and Director of the Office of the President (on faculty-leave).
