Dory is the former Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary for PalmSource, Inc., where she was a founder and second employee hired to form the company. At PalmSource, she was responsible for overseeing all of the operating aspects of the new company, including facilities, legal, human resources, information systems and real estate until the company was sold to Access Co., Ltd. towards the end of 2005.
Prior to that she was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for AT&T Labs. As Chief Operating Officer, she directed the day to day operations of AT&T Labs including oversight of the technology programs in the Labs, mining value from the Intellectual Property portfolio, directing the human resources function, directing financial planning and management, and guiding the Labs’ public relations. She was also responsible for directing a corporate wide effort to identify opportunities for the research community to contribute to the innovation of new service concepts and technologies. Dory was also responsible for managing the annual process by which AT&T determined and evaluated its corporate investments in R&D, ensuring that these resources were aligned with AT&T's business and technology strategy.
Prior to AT&T’s trivestiture, which spun off NCR and Lucent Technologies, Ms. Yochum managed multiple roles in the Chief Information Officer organization where she was both Vice President of Human Resources and Service Planning Vice President. In the latter role, she managed 1,200 individuals responsible for gathering requirements, designing solutions and managing the cost reduction of internal voice and data support for AT&T’s internal customers.
From 1990 to 1994, she was Chief Operating Officer of the Interconnection Technologies business within AT&T's Microelectronics Business Unit, where she ran a $300M business in worldwide sales of printed circuit boards, back planes and connectors, managing three manufacturing operations and 1,800 employees in the United States and Spain.
Ms. Yochum began her career with AT&T, holding positions in the Treasury, Engineering, and Marketing departments at AT&T and at New Jersey Bell and the Western Electric Company. She has had additional profit and loss responsibility serving as Marketing Vice President and General Manager for AT&T’s Consumer Electronics and the Cellular Terminal Products businesses.
She presently serves as a director on the board of Fraser Research and is Chairman of the Board of MentorNet. She has served in the past on the Advisory Board for the University of Pennsylvania’s Executive Master’s in Technology Management, on the board of directors of AT&T Laboratories, Cambridge, U.K., on the board of WEPAN, the Women in Engineering Program and Advocates Network, as Trustee of the AT&T Foundation, and as Advisor to the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management.
