2004 Seminar March

The Stevens Alliance for Technology Management is pleased to announce the second in its Seminar Series in Technology Management, sponsored in collaboration with the Columbia University School of Engineering. The seminar will be presented by Dr. Aaron Shenhar on the topic of Strategic Project Leadership, and will take place on Thursday, March 4 at 6:30 on the Columbia campus.

Dr. Shenhar, a world leader in project management scholarship and practice, is Institute Professor at the Howe School of Technology Management at Stevens Institute. He is well known to SATM people for his stimulating presentations at numerous Alliance meetings. He was named Engineering Manager of the Year by the Engineering Management Society of IEEE in 2000, and was the first recipient of the PMI Research Achievement Award in 2003.

Strategic Project Leadership is a new approach to project management that has been pioneered by Dr. Shenhar. It provides a framework and a practical, step-by-step approach to help organizations focus technology development projects in strategic ways to create competitive advantage. This will be an enlightening treatment of an important subject, and I hope many of you can make it.

You can register by contacting Sharen Glennon (sglennon@stevens.edu or 201-216-5381) to let her know of your attendance or for more information. The $50 registration fee is waived for Alliance sponsors. Seating is limited, and our first seminar, by Boaz Ronen, was over-subscribed, so early registration is suggested.

You can also register online and have the fee waived. Go to www.engineering.columbia.edu/about_seas/events/ Scroll to the Seminar announcement and click RSVP. Fill in required Information. On the "Address 2" line, enter "SATM". Click on "purchase one ticket", click on Register and Check out, then on "Pay Offline". You'll get a notice "Registration Pending". You will subsequently be notified by e-mail that your registration has been confirmed.
