2005 Roundtable February

SATM Roundtable Meeting Announcement
February 8, 2005

The Alliance begins its fifteenth year with the first Roundtable meeting of 2005, on Tuesday, February 8 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal.

Turning Innovation into a Powerful Business Strategy
1) Mapping Innovation: An Exploration of Principles and Processes

This meeting begins a new series that will be devoted to a comprehensive, systemic examination of the general theme of innovation. The specific aim of the initial meeting will be to provide an overview of the key elements of the innovation process and their interrelationships. Such issues will be raised as:

Where are the best places to look for innovation opportunities?
What are the best ways of looking?
What are the chief obstacles to innovation?
What does research suggest in terms of team strategies?
And many others, with the ultimate goal of developing an answer to the fundamental question, how can we really turn innovation into a powerful business strategy?

Beginning answers to these questions will be offered. We have deliberately opted for considerable breadth in this first session in order to uncover the specific interests and needs of Alliance organizations and to shape the agenda for subsequent meetings in the series.

Our guest facilitator is Anthony (Tony) Le Storti, former director of the Center for Creative Studies and principal at IDEATECTS, Inc. Tony is a highly regarded authority in the fields of innovation, creativity, leadership and thinking skills. He facilitated our September 2003 Roundtable on Creativity under Time Pressure, and was lauded by attendees for his dynamic and knowledgeable participation.

Driving and parking directions to Picatinny Arsenal will follow. Dress code is business casual. Please let Sharen Glennon (sglennon@stevens.edu or 201-216-5381) know the names of attendees.
