Roundtable Meeting Announcement

 Wednesday, September 23, 2009
12:00 - 4:15 PM (Lunch 12:00-1:00)
(Tour available to all attendees from 11:00 – 12:00)

The next HSATM Roundtable meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at AT&T (One AT&T Way, Bedminster, NJ) from 1:00-4:15 PM.  A networking luncheon will be served from 12:00-1:00.  The subject of this meeting will be:

Leading Multi-Generational Teams: Practical Solution’s for Today’s Leaders

At the July 2009 Roundtable, Steve Jacobs, President of Global Pharmaceutical Solutions, facilitated a discussion of the differences inherent in the various generations working in today’s organizations.  He made use of a volunteer panel representing the four generations in the current workforce to illustrate the abundant differences.

At the September Roundtable, we will identify solutions to the issues raised at the last meeting and discuss how managers/leaders can create highly effective multi-generational teams.  The discussion will focus on how team performance can be optimized, by better understanding the differences and strengths of the participating generations.  Steve Jacobs will facilitate an interactive discussion, again making use of a multi-generational panel.

In preparation for the discussion, we ask attendees to read the Takeaways and review Steve’s slides from the July meeting.  These documents will be sent shortly and will also be posted on the HSATM web site.  Also, please make an effort to encourage a younger (Generation Y) colleague to attend the session.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  AT&T has invited us to tour their Global Network Operations Center.  From a prior visit, I know that seeing this live command center is an exciting and informative experience.  The tour will begin at 11:00 AM and last for about an hour, after which AT&T will kindly host a networking luncheon.

Dress code for the Roundtable is business casual.  Click here for directions to the AT&T site.  Please let Sharen Glennon know if you plan to attend (sharen.glennon@stevens.edu or 201-216-5381).
