Agenda

Today, there exists a need to reshape relationships among agencies, governments, business partners, community groups, universities and NGO's for Global Development. Changing these relationships is a key to enabling technology management education and the application of technology management principles to help advance societal interests and economic development. The following questions constitute an initial agenda for new education, policy analysis, field activities and research for a Technology Management for Global Development program.

  1. How can the wide range of involved players best organize for multi-national, multi-disciplinary research and development?
  2. What organizational and technological infrastructures and methods, including groups linked by Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), best promote economic and societal development?
  3. How can entrepreneurial universities be best structured to promote economic and societal development?
  4. What are the best practices for educational and professional development programs in preparing Global Development professionals involved in policy, planning, project implementation and entrepreneurship?
  5. Which emerging artifacts and systems are likely to be the most significant future technologies affecting Global Development?
